7 South Dearborn is a supertall skyscraper, located in Chicago, Illinois, at 7 South Dearborn Street. Construction of the building started with the official groundbreaking on site, July 8, 1996. It was designed by Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill, who later designed the 160 floor Burj Khalifa, which was completed in 2010. 7 South Dearborn was completed in July 2000, when workers finished installation of the 433 foot-high broadcast antennas.

History

On February 7, 1999, Keiko Kimura chose the 47th floor of the still-under construction skyscraper (77 stories high in total at the time) as her meeting place to receive information about the FBI's interference at 2552 J Street earlier that day from then-junior NSA Zero Section Agent Conner Jameson. Two unidentified construction workers (male and female) stumbled upon the informants by accident, at which time Kimura executed the male worker, and Jameson, still hesitant as a 'probie' agent, failed to stop the female and allowed her to escape, after which Kimura declared that she would never meet with him on informant missions again.

Real World

  • In real life, 7 South Dearborn was cancelled as a result of European-American Realty being unable to secure finances in late 1999 and early 2000, and the media companies supporting the antenna backing out in April of 2000.
