Angelo Breem is the US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, based out of Chicago's Dirksen Federal Building, and noted opponent to the actions of the local FBI field office's use of Simon Lynch as a special consultant. On March 13, 1999, Breem eagerly snatched up false evidence that Simon Lynch and his protector, FBI Special Agent Art Jeffries (who Breem had long been looking for an excuse to put away), had been responsible for the Meigs Field bombing that put FBI Agent Kollin Redar into a coma for three weeks. On April 4, Breem used political red tape (and potentially blackmail) to muscle his boss, Attorney General Roger Hubert, into having President Michael Hughes send FBI Director Rob Lomax to shut down the Chicago field office for review and suspend protection of Simon Lynch.
