Ryne Douglas Pearson is the author of the novels Simple Simon, Cloudburst, and Capitol Punishment. He is an American novelist and occasionally works as a screenwriter, as he wrote a majority of the screenplay for the 2009 American film Knowing, which starred Nicholas Cage. Simple Simon was Pearson's third book of the 1990's, and it was later adapted into the 1998 American film Mercury Rising, which starred Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin.
