The Miglin-Beitler Skyneedle, also known as simply the Skyneedle is a supertall skyscraper, located in Chicago, Illinois, at 102 W. Madison Street. Construction started on the Skyneedle on March 7, 1989, with the official groundbreaking ceremony on site. It was designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates Architects, who later designed the twin Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The Skyneedle was completed as the tallest building in the world in 1993, at 2,001 feet, surpassing the Sears Tower in height by almost 500 feet
